Plan ahead:
- Photo ID if you are renting a bike. This will be kept in the locker during your outing.
- A solid helmet designed for mountain biking.
- Comfortable espadrilles with a grippy sole like those for running or training. They'll grip the pedals, but also the ground if you have to walk a steep section.
- Sportswear (shorts or shorts, t-shirt)
- Gloves and elbow/knee pads These are at your discretion, but are recommended to protect you in the event of a fall.
- A water bottle (rental bikes come with a standard water bottle holder)
- Energy snacks
- Lunch if you're planning to spend the day (there are no catering services in the Shannahan area)
- A small, basic repair kit for fixing a broken chain, puncture, etc.
- Fly oil (mainly suggested at the beginning of the season)
