This year, Vallée Bras-du-Nord is taking its backcountry ski offering to the next level, with new developments sure to excite those who love deep snow and wild nature. Whether you're already a fan of the Gravite sector or a seasoned skier looking for a bold new challenge, the winter experience awaiting you in the Vallée promises to be unforgettable.

The brand-new Hauteur sector

The latest gem in VBN's backcountry skiing terrain, the Hauteur sector is designed for experienced skiers seeking a true wilderness expedition. Located beyond the footbridge, in a backcountry zone, this sector requires a solid approach, but the reward is immense: epic descents through carefully crafted glades, frozen lake crossings, and breathtaking panoramic views.

Some say the best views in the entire Vallée can be found here... A well-kept secret, for those who aren't afraid to venture a little farther in search of the ultimate adventure.

And the cherry on top? You can set off straight from your yurt or shelterkis on. Full immersion, basecamp style.

The Gravité sector expands

Last winter, the Vallée launched the Gravite sector, a ski touring area with direct access from the Shannahan parking lot. It’s ideal for beginners and intermediates looking to discover ski touring, with a progressive layout that leads to more technical descents.

Good news: for the 2026 season, this sector is expanding with two new glade runs, bringing the total from 3 to 5. These new corridors are designed to maximize flow and fun, enhancing an already exciting offering.

Opening conditions

Vallée Bras-du-Nord sits in a rugged terrain that requires a solid snow base before ski areas can safely open. The trail crew is working hard, and recent snowfall suggests that opening day is getting close.

Stay tuned: conditions will be updated regularly so you can plan your outing at the perfect time.
