Winter 2025 marks a key milestone in the history of Vall\u00e9e Bras-du-Nord with the launch of its brand-new backcountry skiing sector<\/a>, in a self-guided format.\n\nAfter several years of planning, development, and an investment of over $200,000, the Vall\u00e9e unveils a 35-hectare playground in the Gravit\u00e9 sector<\/a>, designed to offer an immersive and accessible experience\u2014while remaining true to the Vall\u00e9e\u2019s DNA<\/a>: epic, grand, and authentic.<\/p>\n

Mountain biking enthusiasts already know the Gravit\u00e9 sector for its thrilling mountain bike<\/a> descents. So it was only natural for us to turn it into a dynamic and varied gliding zone, ideal for both beginners and those looking to progress.\n\nThe skiable area features an open nearby forest and links together three distinct glades, with difficulty gradually increasing the farther you venture into the territory.<\/p>\n

In addition, our partnership with the FQME<\/a> (F\u00e9d\u00e9ration qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise de la montagne et de l\u2019escalade) allows us to provide high-quality support for skiers. By becoming a member of the FQME, users also benefit from accident and liability insurance coverage\u2014an important advantage for enjoying this sport with peace of mind.<\/p>\n

When Can We Hit the Slopes?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Gravit\u00e9 sector is ready to welcome its first skiers\u2026 but we\u2019re still waiting on one key ingredient: snow! \u2744\ufe0f\nWe need a solid 30 to 60 cm of snow coverage before we can officially kick off the season.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, we invite you to prep your gear, sharpen your transitions, and keep an eye on the forecast! Stay tuned\u2014we\u2019ll announce the official opening as soon as Mother Nature gives us the green light.<\/p>\n

Every dollar spent by our users is directly reinvested into maintaining and improving our trail network.\n\nAs always at the Vall\u00e9e, 100% of the revenue from day passes and season memberships goes toward the development and long-term sustainability of the sector. Even better: it also serves as leverage to secure additional funding\u2014allowing us to multiply investments and enhance your experience on the mountain.<\/p>\n

Aware of the growing financial burden brought on by inflation, we were committed to offering an accessible product to ensure that backcountry skiing remains within everyone\u2019s reach. A season pass allows you to enjoy multiple outings at an affordable price<\/a>.\n\nIn addition, in keeping with our Residents Policy, a 50% discount on the season pass is offered to citizens of Saint-Raymond.<\/p>\n
